STUDENT ADMISSION
(excerpts from the DCNHS Manual of Rules and Regulations)

SECTION 11.      
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT.  The basic requirement for eligibility for admission of a student in high school shall be graduation from an elementary level program recognized by the Department of Education.

SECTION 12.      
RIGHT TO ENROLL UNTIL GRADUATION.  Admission to this public school is open to all students who meet specific standards, requirements, and regulations as mentioned in this Manual.  Except in cases of academic delinquency, violation of school rules and regulations, and violation of Republic Act 6655, the student who qualifies for enrolment is qualified to stay for the entire period in which he is expected to complete his course in the school, without prejudice to his right to transfer to other school with the prescribed period.

SECTION 13.      
RULES FOR REGISTRATION.  The enrollment of student in the first year level shall be conducted during the registration or enrolment period set by the school and subject to the following rules:
              
a.   When a student registers in the school, it is understood that he is enrolling for the entire school year;

b.   Aside from the specified registration or enrollment period, a student may enroll and be admitted in    accordance with reasonable rules of the school on late enrollment but in no case shall exceed two weeks after the opening of classes;

c.   After the two-week period above mentioned, no further enrollment will be allowed, without prejudice however to subsequent transfer by an enrolled student from one school to another during the school year provided the consent of both schools is obtained.  As a general rule, inter-school transfers after the enrollment period is discouraged especially for graduating students.

d.   No student shall be officially enrolled unless he/she present proper school credentials on or before the end of the enrollment period for the school term.

e.   A student is deemed officially enrolled after he/she has submitted his appropriate admission or transfer credentials.

f.    An enrolling student accompanied by his/her parent / guardian shall undergo 2 steps;

  1. Screening, where student presents his admission credentials to the Screening Teacher who closely examines them and if credentials are in order issues the blank enrolment form to be accomplished;
  2. Registering where student submits to the Registering Teacher the duly accomplished enrolment form with all admission credentials.  At this point, the Registering Teacher cancels the Report Card of the Students.  Report Cards which have already been utilized for enrolment are deemed cancelled, hence stale and shall be returned to the students.

g.   All student officially enrolled are required to submit two (2) copies of their 1” x 1” picture for their ID and Student Profile.

h.   Students in the 2nd year, 3rd year, and 4th year are pre-enrolled at the end of the school year.

SECTION 14.      
ADMISSION CREDENTIALS.  The following credentials are required of enrolling students:

A.   For old students
Uncancelled DepEd Form 138 or Student Report Card or its equivalent, signed by school principal.

B.   For new students
Uncancelled DepEd Form 138 or its equivalent, signed by school principal; Xerox copy of birth certificate, with original copy for verification; Dental Clearance obtained from the Division Dentist; and the Certification of Good Moral Character obtained from the head of the school last attended.
